LONG BEACH – The number of homeless in the city of Long Beach is rising as the residents rejected efforts to build a temporary shelter and city officials rejected a “homeless hub” proposed along the Metro A Line. Garment and hospitality workers won key victories in the Downtown LA 2040 Community Plan at the LA City Council Planning and Land Use Committee (PLUM) hearing, where PLUM members voted unanimously to support workers’ recommendations.
