AZUSA – Officials Sunday released the name of a 57-year-old motorist who was killed when his vehicle overturned in the Angeles National Forest north of Azusa. The motorist was identified as Elias Perez Santiago of Pico Rivera, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. The crash was reported at 8:47 p.m. Saturday on East Fork Road, east of the Shoemaker Canyon Road junction, according to the California Highway Patrol. LOS ANGELES – A 62-year-old man was shot dead by two suspects who drove up in a sedan as he was about to exercise on his bike Sunday morning in the unincorporated Firestone Park community of Los Angeles County, authorities said. SANTA ANA – A 25-year-old gang member with previous felony convictions was sentenced Friday life in prison without parole for gunning down a 20-year-old man in a mid-afternoon drive-by shooting in Santa Ana. Edgar Macias Martinez was convicted April 26 of first-degree murder with special circumstances of a drive-by shooting and murder for the benefit of a gang. ORANGE – Orange County Transportation Authority drivers for disabled commuters voted Thursday to accept a new contract and full service is expected to resume Monday.
