LOS ANGELES – A 62-year-old man was shot dead by two suspects who drove up in a sedan as he was about to exercise on his bike Sunday morning in the unincorporated Firestone Park community of Los Angeles County, authorities said. SANTA ANA – A 25-year-old gang member with previous felony convictions was sentenced Friday life in prison without parole for gunning down a 20-year-old man in a mid-afternoon drive-by shooting in Santa Ana. Edgar Macias Martinez was convicted April 26 of first-degree murder with special circumstances of a drive-by shooting and murder for the benefit of a gang. ORANGE – Orange County Transportation Authority drivers for disabled commuters voted Thursday to accept a new contract and full service is expected to resume Monday.
