COMPTON – The Compton Fire Department’s political action team have released their endorsements for the upcoming March 5 election.

The fire department have been relentless in their quest to have adequate facilities and equipment to perform their duties and have spoken out during the weekly city council meetings to keep the public abreast of the situation.

The Compton Firefighters L2216 political action team have been working diligently to create a positive impact for the future of the City of Compton and your Compton Fire Department. They have reached out to certified candidates whom are running for the upcoming election and invited them to a candidate forum. The purpose of these events was to allow for a fair and impartial space for the candidates to meet our political action team and discuss a variety of topics.

Through these events, the question and answer responses, discussions, their outlook of the future for the City of Compton / fire department is what assisted us in discovering what we were looking for in the potential candidates that the Compton Firefighters would endorse for this next election.

We want to thank each and every candidate that took the time to respond to us and participate in our event. We appreciate your time and interest in working with the Compton Firefighters and we wish you all the best of luck.

The Compton Firefighters have come to a decision after all candidates who participated have been evaluated.

Your Compton Firefighters will be endorsing and fully supporting the following candidates for the March 5, 2024 local elections for the City of Compton.

Fidel Marquez for District 1
Joel Estrada for District 4
Lynn Boone for City Clerk

We look forward to working with these candidates as their ideas, goals, and future plans line up with how we feel the City of Compton should be represented.

We ask that our supporters, our citizens, and our community trust these candidates as much as you trust us, your Compton Firefighters🔥🚒 💨

Let’s make the change together!

Allegations are swirling throughout the community that City Clerk Vernell McDaniels is using her official photo and city hall phone number on campaign literature. She has been observed participating in various press conferences in an effort to boost her profile amongst voters.

McDaniels served under former City Clerk Alita Godwin and was appointed to her seat after her retirement.
