SANTA ANA – A 28-year-old man has been convicted of robbing a man on his way to work and forcing him to commit a sex act on the defendant in a Santa Ana park, according to court records obtained Friday.

Alec Sean Blake was convicted Wednesday of kidnapping, kidnapping to commit a robbery or sex offense, forcible copulation, robbery and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, all felonies.

The victim was going to work about 4:35 a.m. Sept. 6 when he was approached at Raitt and Adams streets by the defendant, who was riding on a beach cruiser bike, prosecutors said in court papers.

At gunpoint, Blake forced the victim to follow him to Thornton Park, where he made the man perform oral sex on him, prosecutors said. When the defendant asked the victim if he had ever had anal sex the victim implored him not to assault him that way, enraging the defendant, who said he was “disgusted” by the victim, prosecutors said.

Blake punched the victim in the face, knocking him backwards, and continued to punch and kick the victim, who lost consciousness, prosecutors said. Blake took the man’s phone and forced him to give up the password while also taking his wallet before fleeing, according to prosecutors.

The victim was able to track the whereabouts of his phone online and passed on that evidence to police, who began surveillance on Blake’s residence, prosecutors said. The defendant had ordered food twice through the phone, according to prosecutors.

Police recovered the defendant’s DNA on the victim’s shirt, prosecutors said.
