LOS ANGELES – A vehicle hit a man who was walking in the downtown Los Angeles area Thursday, leaving the pedestrian and the motorist dead, authorities said.
The collision occurred about 1:25 a.m. on Sixth Street west of Alameda Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
“A 25-year-old male pedestrian was walking westbound on the sidewalk of 6th Street when a vehicle traveling westbound collided with him,” police said in a statement “The vehicle continued in a westbound direction and collided with a building.”
Paramedics took the motorist and the pedestrian to a hospital, where both died, the LAPD reported. Their names were withheld, pending notification of their relatives.
