SILVER LAKE – A woman who was shot by Los Angeles Police Department officers in Silver Lake after they say she waved what they described as a gun at them is in critical condition, authorities said Thursday. POMONA – A sting operation conducted by the Pomona Police Department Wednesday resulted in the arrests of four suspected sex purchasers. Pomona Police Department officers posed as sex workers along East Holt Avenue and Indian Hill Boulevard, according to Sgt. Dan Gomez. Paul Albitre, 76, of Los Angeles, Richard Meza, 60 of Pomona, Jose Chirino, 62, of San Dimas, and Jose Sandovalzamoram 24, of Pomona, were arrested for suspicion of prostitution, Gomez said. Alexis Bovaird, 21, of Riverside, was arrested for suspicion of public nudity, Gomez said.

SANTA ANA – A former warehouse manager for a Santa Ana COVID-19 business pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing more than $1 million in tests and attempting to steal more worth an additional $270,000. Carlos Peralta, a former employee of Covid Clinic, pleaded guilty to six counts of grand theft by employee and seven counts of forgery, all felonies. MALIBU – Malibu residents were being asked to dramatically reduce their water use Wednesday, with a county project to replace and relocate a water main near Pacific Coast Highway leading to “extremely limited” local supplies.
