LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Police Department had 31 officer- involved shootings in 2022, compared with 37 such shootings the previous year, according to a new report. The LAPD’s 2022 Use of Force Year-End Review report was presented Tuesday to the LAPD Board of Police Commissioners. LOS ANGELES – Three managers for Irvine-based Silverado Senior Living Management Inc. pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges stemming from the COVID-related deaths of a nurse and 13 people who lived at a residential care facility in Los Angeles. LOS ANGELES – A San Fernando Valley man faces sentencing in July for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. LONG BEACH – The family of an 18-year-old woman fatally shot by a Long Beach Unified School District safety officer while she was sitting in a car announced Tuesday that they’ve reached a $13 million settlement of their lawsuit against the district. WILMINGTON – Authorities sought the public’s help Monday to find the hit-and-run motorist they say left the scene of a pedestrian fatality in Wilmington. Paramedics sent to Pacific Coast Highway at Wilmington Boulevard about 5:20 p.m. Sunday pronounced the 52-year-old man dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. LOS ANGELES – A judge Monday dismissed the two remaining claims of a Los Angeles police officer who sued the city, alleging he was harassed and subjected to backlash for not wearing a face covering while working outdoors. LOS ANGELES – A woman who allegedly stole a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department patrol SUV led deputies on a chase Monday from Compton to Orange County, where she was eventually boxed in by other vehicles and taken into custody.
