3rd pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver in South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES – A third person was killed by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles Monday night.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a pedestrian down at 104th Street and Figueroa Street around 6:50 p.m.

Upon arrival, they located the pedestrian suffering from blunt trauma and was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

A woman was fatally hit by a driver late Saturday (Feb. 22) night at 66th Street and Normandie Ave.

Another woman was fatally hit by a driver Sunday (Feb. 23) evening near 74th Street and Main Street.

Police said a reward of up to $50,000 is available to members of the public who provide information leading to identification, apprehension and/or conviction in a fatal hit-and-run.

Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to call the LAPD’s South Traffic Division at 323-421-2577, or during non-business hours or weekends, at 877-527-3247. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477, or lacrimestoppers.org.
