INGLEWOOD – The 4th Annual Women Rock Empowerment Summit will be held at the Inglewood Senior Center on May 3.

The event is sponsored by the city of Inglewood, District 4 Councilwoman Dionne Faulk and City Clerk Aisha Thompson which is a free community event designed to bring together women to attend powerful and informative workshops that will help women gain confidence, practice self-care, and support each other’s personal or professional success.

Past guest speakers include Inglewood Assembly member Tina McKinnor, Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly Mitchell, former Compton Councilwoman Michelle Chambers and a host of business women doing business in Inglewood.

According to Faulk, “women’s empowerment is necessary for the development and sustainability of a strong and capable community and for enhancing the quality of life for all citizens. Many families still face uncertain futures and are often forced to make tough quality-of-life decisions concerning caring for themselves and their families. Women’s empowerment and achieving gender equality are essential for our families and our community to ensure the growth and well being of their loved ones.”

Faulk is a member of the Divine Nine sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) an international service organization, founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908. It is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women.

The Women’s Rock Empowerment Summit is an extension of Faulk’s commitment to service and empowering and inspiring women.

The event will also feature a luncheon and vendors from the community.

Save the date and we’ll keep you updated on how to register as more details become available.
