CARSON —The City of Carson has announced the LA28 Olympic Games will feature four exciting sports at some of their world- class venues. The City will host of the Olympic Cycling Track in the Velodrome in Carson, Hockey at the Fields adjacent from the Stadium, Rugby Sevens in the Stadium, and Tennis in the Tennis Center.

“As Mayor of Carson, I am thrilled to express our community’s pride and excitement as a Venue City for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This historic moment showcases Carson’s world-class facilities and vibrant diversity and promises significant opportunities,” said Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes. “Our city’s selection is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and our collaborative spirit. We are poised to deliver an unforgettable experience that will leave a lasting legacy of growth, unity, and inspiration for generations to come. Together, we will embark on this journey to celebrate the power of sport and the spirit of competition, all while incorporating sustainability and inclusion.”

“The 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games will reflect all that the Los Angeles area has to
offer, and with these venue assignments, we’re very proud to bring the Games to many of our
vibrant and diverse communities,” said LA28 Chief Athlete Officer Janet Evans. “The venues in
these cities are world-class, and provide the ideal conditions for athletes and fans, and we look
forward to welcoming them in 2028.”

In the City of Carson, the world-class athletic complex that is the home to the LA Galaxy Major
League Soccer team will host the sports of Cycling – Track in the Velodrome, Hockey at the
Fields adjacent to the Stadium, Rugby Sevens in the Stadium, and Tennis in the Tennis
Center. The Velodrome is an Official U.S. Olympic Training Site and serves as the home track
for USA Cycling’s national track and cycling program. The Fields, currently used as training
grounds for the LA Galaxy, will be transformed into a world-class temporary Hockey. The
Tennis Center is home to the U.S. Tennis Association’s (USTA) High-Performance Training
Center and has hosted various professional Women’s Tennis championships and
tournaments. Additionally, Rugby Sevens will be held in the same stadium that regularly hosts
the World Rugby Sevens Series. Carson’s velodrome previously hosted Cycling – Track at the
1984 Games.

“We are eagerly anticipating the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which promise to be a
spectacular display of athletic prowess and international camaraderie. We invite the world to
join us in this exciting event,” added Mayor Davis-Holmes.
