Twelve years in the making, TV/film writer, director and award-winning filmmaker Felicia Pride (Really Love, “Queen Sugar,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Bel-Air) launches the podcast companion to The Create Daily: “The Creative Cut Up.” The new talk show is a lively and honest space for underrepresented and marginalized storytellers that sits at the intersection of craft, business and creative freedom.
Joined by co-hosts, development executive/producer, Dria Roland and, producer/voice actor, Georgette Pierre, the trio come together every week to talk shop, smack, and share their industry pro insights to inspire emerging creatives on how to navigate the industry, getting their stories out both in Hollywood and independently.
“The Creative Cut Up” pulls up to empower rising talent with tangible tips to support their creative practice, careers and their artist selves. Felicia, Dria and Georgette invite creatives to get to know the real deal about working in Hollywood – the good, the bad and the ugly.
In Episode 1, “Cuttin’ Up About Breaking Into Hollywood,” the ladies link to chop it up about what they wish they knew before breaking into Hollywood.
Following Pride’s two-time NAACP Image Award nominated podcast “Chile, Please,” “The Creative Cut Up” is the second podcast out of HONEY CHILE, Felicia’s production company which produces cultural content about, by and for Black women 40+ across mediums.
Pride released her second short film, Look Back At It (starring comedienne + viral sensation Angel Laketa Moore) and was recently announced as writer, showrunner and EP through HONEY CHILE for the film adaptation of Tia Williams’ New York Times bestseller, “Seven Days in June.”
She also published “The Creative Comeback” this fall, a workbook and journal for creatives to get back on track with the guidance, inspiration and accountability they need to create more consistently and authentically.
