Inglewood man arrested for painting swastikas on residents vehicles

INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Authorities have announced an arrest in the vandalism of several vehicles in the Ladera Heights area that were painted with swastikas.

Robert Haymore, 37, was arrested in Inglewood on Tuesday after their investigation determined that he was a suspect in the repeat vandalism, that happened on multiple occasions last week.

The Anti-Defamation League has not made any public comments on the matter. They continuously send out mass emails denouncing anti-Semitism but stop short of funding Black organizations to educate against such acts.

Some of the organizations emails directly link comments made by Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, for the uptick in anti-semitic attacks.

“Since October 2022, ADL has documented at least 30 antisemitic incidents that directly reference Ye – the influential artist, producer, and fashion designer formerly known as Kanye West, whose 2022 antisemitic outbursts made headlines. These incidents, which include vandalism, banner drops, targeted harassment, and campus propaganda distributions, demonstrate the ongoing influence of Ye’s conspiratorial, bigoted rants.”

Haymore, who is Black, has a history of arrests, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s booking system.

Haymore’s bail is listed at $20,000 but the department said they will be holding him in custody as they prepare to present the case to the District Attorney’s Office.

District Attorney George Gascon was supported by progressive Jewish organizations when he ran for office in 2020.

Rabbi Aryeh Cohen, rabbi in residence of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action Southern California, said Gascón’s reforms are “a living example of the Jewish values of justice that motivate our work to reform the criminal justice system, and of the moral society so many of our traditions seek to build.”

Any additional victims of the vandalism are asked to contact investigators at (323) 267-4819.
