René Romero announced he has received the endorsement from Transportation Workers Union of America (TWU), Local 575 for his campaign to represent California State Assembly District 57.

“Rene has demonstrated unwavering commitment to fair wages, workplace safety, and affordable healthcare. We firmly believe that his experience, integrity, and passion for public service will make a significant difference in shaping policies that directly impact the lives of working people and their families,” stated TWU Local 575 Vice President Enrique Guzman.

TWU Local 575 represents over 2,000 members and works to improve the working conditions, wages, and schedules of fleet service workers at the Los Angeles International airport. TWU Local 575 represents a diverse and dedicated group of workers within the transportation sector and advocates for policies that directly impact the lives of their members and their families.

“I am honored to earn the support of TWU Local 575. When luggage reaches the destination, fleet service workers are who we have to thank. I support their efforts to fight for a living wage, predictable schedules, and safe work environments. I will will fight for these core values and help lift up hardworking families in the State Assembly,” stated Romero.

Assembly District 57 includes portions of Downtown and South Los Angeles, including neighborhoods of Florence, Harbor Gateway, Historic West Adams, University Park, and Walnut Park.
