COMPTON – A former Compton councilmember has had his election fraud trial delayed again due to the constant change in prosecutors.
Ex-Compton Councilman Isaac Galvan was due in court today on charges stemming from election fraud allegations and had his trial delayed while the new district attorney assigned to the case catches up to speed.
This is the third attorney assigned to the trial.
The first district attorney was removed because they were put on leave for “election theory” conspiracies that made headlines.
Deputy District Attorney Eric Neff was been placed on administrative leave in November 2022 for his role in the questionable prosecution of a Michigan software executive that may have been sparked by conspiracy theorists who deny the validity of the 2020 presidential election.

Neff was replaced with another Deputy DA who quit without providing a reason for doing so.
During today’s hearing, the judge gave the new Deputy DA an extension in order to get caught up.

Meanwhile, in the civil trial, Galvan is due back in court on July 17, after a judge issued bench warrants for the court reporters responsible for transcribing the proceedings that ultimately removed Galvan from office in June 2022.
Galvan is attempting to file an appeal in that case which he is unable to do without certified transcripts that the court reporters have yet to turn over to the court.
It is unclear if the Los Angeles District Attorney’s case hinges on the transcripts from the civil trial.
