PASADENA – Additional police officers will be patrolling Pasadena Friday for the Cinco de Mayo holiday to catch celebrants suspected of driving while impaired.
Pasadena police officials encouraged the public to celebrate responsibly and plan ahead of the event.
“Don’t put yourself and others at risk by driving impaired,” the Pasadena Police Department said in a statement. “If you’re planning to celebrate with a drink or two, leave your keys at home and designate a sober driver.
“Driving under the influence is not limited to drunk driving. Motorists can become impaired from prescriptions, cannabis consumption or over- the-counter drugs,” according to Pasadena PD Commander William Grisafe.
