CULVER CITY – A man was robbed of his cell phone at knifepoint in Culver City Thursday, and police sought the public’s help to find the suspect.
Officers went to the 10600 Block of Virginia Avenue, between Jefferson Boulevard and Overland Avenue, about 9:15 a.m. on a report that a person was injured and bleeding, the Culver City Police Department reported.
“Officers met with the victim, who advised them that he was walking on Cota Street when he was approached by the suspect,” police said. “The suspect was armed with a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The victim put his hand out to protect himself from the stabbing and received a laceration to his hand.”
The suspect took the victim’s Samsung cell phone and fled on a bicycle, police said. The man was described as 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with curly black hair and a goatee. He wore jeans and a jacket.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene for an injury described as non-life-threatening. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 310-253-6316 or 310-253-6202.
