LOS ANGELES – The average prices of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles and Orange counties both recorded their largest increases since April 7 Friday.
The Los Angeles County average price rose 1.7 cents to $4.845, ending a run of six decreases in seven days totaling 2.4 cents that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Feb. 22. It is two-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 10.4 cents lower than one month ago and $1.252 below what it was one year ago.
The Los Angeles County average price has dropped $1.649 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.
The Orange County average price rose 2.6 cents to $4.815, one day after a run of six decreases in seven days totaling 2.1 cents that dropped it to its lowest amount since Feb. 20 ended when it was unchanged. The Orange County average price is 1.6 cents more than one week ago but 10.8 cents less than one month ago and $1.261 lower than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.644 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.
The national average price rose a half-cent to $3.541, the third consecutive increase after a run of three decreases in four days totaling 1.2 cents. It rose one-tenth of a cent Wednesday and four-tenths of cent Thursday.
The national average price is one-tenth of a cent less than one week ago, 14.3 cents lower than one month ago and $1.048 below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.613 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5.
