Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced that Mark Connole was charged today with murdering a man and injuring three other people outside of a Trader Joe’s parking lot in West Hills over the weekend.
“This brazen act of violence occurred in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Innocent shoppers could easily have been hurt or killed.” District Attorney Gascón said. “This shocking level of disregard for the safety and well-being of our community will not be tolerated.”
Mark Elton Connole, a Connecticut man (dob 1/9/89) was charged in case LA098930 with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder. He also faces special allegations off personally using a handgun and personally inflicting great bodily injury.
Amy Waters (dob 7/7/89) was charged with one count each of accessory after the fact, possession for sale of a controlled substance and fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle while driving recklessly.
They are scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon in Department 100 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch.
Connole is accused of shooting one man to death and injuring three others at a Trader Joe’s parking lot in West Hills on April 1 and then fleeing the scene. Waters is accused of recklessly driving the getaway car. Both were arrested after a short pursuit.
