LOS ANGELES – A man was in custody Thursday for allegedly robbing a man who was shopping in the Beverly Grove area earlier this week.
Marcellus Moore, 25, of Los Angeles, was arrested Tuesday and booked on suspicion of robbery, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He was being held on $75,000 bail.
The crime occurred about 7:10 p.m. Monday near Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, the LAPD reported.
“The suspect punched the victim, took the victim’s satchel, and fled on foot,” police said “Wilshire patrol officers responded, and their investigation (led) them to the suspect’s identity and location.”
Moore was arrested at a courthouse building, police said.
“Detectives … observed the suspect exiting the building wearing the stolen satchel containing the victim’s belongings,” police said.
