VAN NUYS – A man and two teenagers were arrested for allegedly robbing a man at what was supposed to be the sale of an expensive wristwatch at his Van Nuys home, authorities said Saturday.

The robbery occurred at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday in the driveway of the victim’s home, after he had advertised the high-end watch for sale on a social media platform, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The suspect contacted the seller and agreed to meet him at his home, driving in a vehicle described as a black, four-door BMW sedan. After the victim showed the suspect the wristwatch, two additional suspects exited the sedan. Two of the three suspects pulled out handguns, took the victim’s wristwatch and other personal items, police said.

The trio fled the scene in the BMW in an unknown direction.

Detectives and officers located the suspects’ vehicle at a motel in a nearby city, within three hours of the robbery. One adult and two juveniles were taken into custody, and the victim’s watch and other items taken from him were recovered at the motel, police said. They added that two loaded handguns were also recovered and booked as evidence.

The adult suspect was identified as Devon Perry, 21, of Van Nuys.

The LAPD urged anyone with information about the alleged robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or go to www.lacrimestoppers.org.
