Assemblymember Chris Holden has announced his intent to challenge Kathryn Barger for the County Supervisor District 5 seat.

“In the Assembly, I’ve brought people together to pursue progressive solutions that work. I’m running for LA County Supervisor because the challenges we face need to be more urgently addressed. It’s time for Democratic leadership with a proven track record of getting things done,” wrote Holden on his social media account Feb. 16.

I’m asking you to get on board and join us on this journey. Together, we’ll pursue solutions that work for Los Angeles County. Join us at https://t.co/miVTym4zIv #HoldenforSupervisor

About Chris Holden

Elected to the Pasadena City Council at age 28, Chris was the 2nd African American to serve as Mayor in city history. Under his leadership, Pasadena created its first living wage ordinance to ensure that workers could earn decent pay for their hard work and contribute to the local economy. Chris also managed the deregulation of the city’s public utility in a way that preserved local jobs while keeping rates lower than in the private marketplace. He also created the task force that led to the creation of Paseo Colorado and reconnected the historic civic center and new convention center, a key project that has helped small businesses and contributed to the revitalization of downtown Pasadena.

Holden has been a member of the Assembly since 2015. Click here to read his legislative record.
